"IF" I end up with a trunk mount bottle, I'm concerned about fumes, so I would like a seal-able system. Is there some sort of check valve that I can use to stop the bottle from collapsing under vacuum, but keep any dirt out? Do I need a vent line?

Paul

Run a nipple to the outside with a one way check valve in line.

Thats the easiest.

How big does the vent needs to be?

Is that little nipple on typical gas can enough?

I don't want the vacuum to choke the shurflo. I don't know if that tiny hole is enough vent.

I'm thinking in the lines of a 3/16 or 1/4 inch barb. I mean your consumption is 6 OZ per pass..like a glass in 12 seconds.. no issue.

What about pressure relief? (If the unit is sealed sitting in a hot trunk on a summer day)
Sorry for the twenty questions, just want to do this right. ;)

Pressure is good :)

Seriously I don't see why you need a check valve.. just a hose will be fine. Use a little filter of some sort to keep dirt from the outside from coming into the tank.

While the car is running pressure is good, but I'm thinking about if the car is sitting parked in the hot sun. I guess just using a vent line with some sort of brass or SS filter would work.
