Hey guys, just wanted to let ya know that ill be working on a engine swap into a 95 240SX. this is the s14 body style. currently its got a weak KA24 4 cylinder. i think this motor will fit right in there, might have to work witht he exhaust up pipe a little to fit between the strut towers but other than that i think the thing will fit nicely. its gonna end up being intercooled with custom piping and such, and a 87 turbo i think. Anyone know of anyone who put in a V8 chevy or buick motor in a 240 SX that i could talk to? i wanna know aobut making motor mounts and such but i guess ill find out when i get to workin with it. thanks guys.

Stuff like that is what I like to hear about. I know I could'nt even attempt a project like that. Good luck to you!!!

Can't offer any advice except to check out 240sx.org for tech info and links.

My wife has a '95 240SX-SE. Not that I would ever bother to swap the motor, but I would like to hear about your progress.

Hybrids section at the other board

Jacob,

You may want to post at the sister board TBS.com and get in the hybrid section. Surely someone can help you out there. Sounds like a cool hybrid and will suprise many when you're done. Keep us posted on the progress. Keep that 70 GS350 clean and mean too!!:) Nice car...

engine

You may want to look for an 86 or 87 engine.Better engine.Bruce

i have the 87 motor in my Ttype, but they are pretty expensive engiens to buy. the hot airs are cheap, and im just gonna intercool that and put the 87 computer and MAF sensor on it. should work just fine. thanks for the input

I know this is contrary to your plans, but Jim Wolf Technology in El Cajon, Ca. sells all sorts of upgrade stuff for Nissans. I Turbocharged/Intercooled a doctor friends SER Sentra SR20DE, and can't say enough about it's performance. With a 8,500 redline and 10lbs. of boost it's like a go kart on steroids - guaranteed smiles !

yes i know several guys with SR20DETs in their cars, but all of them are S13 240s. id rather have a torqe monster GN motor in there than the high reving 2 liter turbo. to get one of those engines your looking at about 3 grand, since they have to be shipped from Japan. Then only if your lucky do you get most of the wiring harness, the computer, and other small parts on the engine. These things are sold as front clips, and most have crap already removed from em. Ive worked with a SR20DET install in a 90 240SX and i must say that if im gonna do that much work, id rather go with a GN engine.
Also, upgrade parts for those are EXTREMELY expensive too. nowhere near what the cost to modify a GN motor is. bigger turbo??? 1000 bucks. intercooler??? 1300 bucks. injectors are expensive, ECU is like another 600 bucks. then you gotta buy a 400 dollar APEXi multichecker and really expensive piggyback computer setup to tune with, even things like a airfilter/intake is over a hundred bucks. then you gotta buy setups to trick the computer to eliminate the boost cut, then you gotta get a bigger MAF cause those are small as crap. I know plenty of people with em, but they cost way to much to start with, and cost way to much to modify to try and fit in the budget we have set. Thanks for the thoughts though
