I know this is a common issue with the 87 buicks where the speedo needle bounces at the lower mph. What si the fix for this issue?

Pop the instrument bezel off...dont lose the clips. Unscrew the dash cluster and pull it out as far as you can. Then you can get your hand back there and unscrew the speedo cable from the back. Unscrew the other end from under the hood. Pull the whole thing out, or just the core of it...the main wire inside the sheath. Grease it up really well (try synthetic grease), and put it all back together. Mine was disconnected when I got it. When I hooked it up, the needle bounced violently and made a harsh grinding sound. I did this fix 3 years ago and it hasnt come back. It still used to bounce a little bit under 25mph, but after a year or so it stopped.

wrong

Unscrew under the hood first--that way you can pull it farther away from dash--It does not unscrew behind dash--it has a clip that you release. Then you can grease it. Best of luck.
