I recently purchased a Bowling Green Customs stretch stock location IC for my GN. The car is completely stock at the moment and here soon won't be. I've started the install of the IC, and have the old one out. My question is, this IC did not come with any brackets. I notice the stocker has a welded bung on the bottom for the bottom bolt I removed. The new stretch does not. Is their a bracket I need to replace the stock passenger side bracket with or? I'm at a standstill until I figure this out. I've done a lot of searching on here and other various sites and its kind of hazy info. If their is a bracket I need, who can I order one from? I'm in no hurry as the car isn't driven much. But I'd like to complete this part by this week before I hit the track next weekend.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

you have to cut the lip off the bottom of your stock bracket to allow the intercooler to poke past it. It'll look like this one when you're done.

The intercooler you bought is just a stocker with 1/2 a stock core welded to the bottom of it. The other three holes still work with the modified bracket and the metal roundstock on the drivers side.

Before you go through a bunch of trouble mounting it up, I'd pressure test it first and make sure it's not leaking all over the place.

Thanks for the information Earl. This is exactly what I was looking for...straight to the point info. I can cut it tomorrow, I was just hoping I wouldn't have to hunt down a hard to find bracket. It's been pressure tested and is in good shape. I bought it from a local Buick club member close to me. He just didn't have any brackets for it. Just the shroud and the IC itself. Either way though, it's much larger than my stock IC. It's 24 rows, and that should suffice for the build I'm in the middle of. Thanks much.

as long as you're cutting, make it look like this. It'll collect less road grime and make filter changes easier.
