I'm considering buying some AN line to mount my fuel pressure transducer off of the engine to help increase sensor longevity. I've done a little bit of research, and my thought is- if I'm doing this, I may as well buy the AN wrenches and hose cutter and eventually upgrade my feed and return lines to -8 and -6 PTFE lines in the future. I know Racetronix makes a nice kit, but I figure maybe I'd save a few dollars and gain the knowledge of making my own lines, so later on I could do the same with my transmission lines.
My question is- not all PTFE lines and fittings are created equal, right? I was going to use AN Fittings Direct, but have read some not so great reviews about them. It seems that Fragola may be towards the top of the line and is made in the USA. Are there any other good brands? How can you tell if it's a quality piece or not? Besides being PTFE lined, it looks like carbon lined is good to have? Example: Summit part number 602026 vs
601506. The black line (carbon lined, I think) seems to be more money. And of course keep the same brand fittings with the same brand hose.
