Was at the salvage yard getting parts (the little window anti-rattle rubber bumpers on the window that have no part #'s!)
and I saw what looked like a big one-way vacuum check valve (or maybe a filter) on the vacuum brake line of an '81 Cutlass (the donor car). Anybody know if it is needed for TR?
My brakes are scary weak (like everyones). I bought it w/ the brake conversion but just have vac line running from vacuum manifold block straight to brake.
This unit was metal and about 2.5" long, one end fitting was 90*. Again it looked like a one-way or maybe a small filter (for keeping water out?)
If you can edumakate me I'd appreciate it!
D:)

that black thingy inline between the engine and the booster is a filter to protect the check valve at the booster from gasoline and oil vapors and other contaminants .

You should probably put a check value to keep boost out of the booster pump.
