I've been told that brake boosting is really bad for a car. I'm just wondering if theres any truth in that? And if so wouldnt loadign boost off the line do the same thing?
Its only bad if you hold it there for a long period of time (Over 5 seconds). Its alot of stress on the torque converter, and it builds alot of heat in the trans.
so basically build and then launch, dont hold it. and dont do it every 5 minutes. I've only done it once because i wasnt sure. thanks for the quick reply.
Yeap. I wouldnt hot lap the car, your just asking for trouble. 200r's like to break and heat doesnt help them out at all. What kind of converter do you have? Does it have brazed fins or any billet?
transmission is stock. so's the engine. both rebuilt to stock spec once. I dont intend on going out and break boosting daily. but sometimes you just have to shut a ricer up, and crushing them even more is always fun.
