I'll be driving along and lightly hit the brakes and the brake light comes on for a few seconds and you don't really notious anything but if you hit the brake any harder than that the brake light come on for a few seconds and I have no brakes then as soon as the light goes off the brakes kick on. What's the problem. I drive the car almost 450-500 miles a week and I can't aford to rearend someone. Please help.

I had the same problem and eventualy the light stayed on and the brakes were useless. I swapped out the entire powermaster unit with a new remanufactured unit from autozone for $140. Took about 20 minutes. Most people convert to vacume but I didnt have the time or money.

I agree with 1bad85gn. While you may be able to diagnose the exact problem, the part you need will most likely cost $100 or better. With the AZ, you spend $150 and have a lifetime warranty. I just did mine 2 weeks ago because the pump failed.

Thanks guys, what else will happen before the brakes fail? Or will this happen one day?

Did you check the fluid level? If air gets in the system, this could happen. BUT, if it's low, then it's leaking, so you're still screwed. There's 2 compartments, the one on the passenger side is the one that is used by the pump/power system.
