One new set of aluminum rods (Superod), for narrow journal stock-stroke off-center appl, 6.2", .990"pin. Also includes used set w/a few passes on them (no street miles). $75

Speaking of street miles:

"In a street application, using the aluminum rod is a no brainer," BME President, Bill Miller recently said in an interview with an automotive magazine. "I don't know exactly how the myth that aluminum rods can't be used on the street got started, but I'll guess that early manufacturers of aluminum rods, back in the 60s and early-70s, weren't makin' them using the forging process we're using. With the material we've got and they way we manufacture the connecting rods, they'll live a couple hundred thousand miles on the street because a street application is, for the most part, low load. You gotta understand, our basic Aluminum Rod is made for 10,000 rpm and 800-hp. The design criteria for the connecting rod is way overkill for what it's gonna see on the street. We been runnin' aluminum rods on the street for 20 years.”

$75? or is that a typo? If only $75, I'll take them, get me a price shipped to NJ 07083.

I'll package/ship them for an additional $25. You realize you'll need custom pistons for this rod length/pin combo...

I'm just waiting to hear back from the machine shop to see if it's too late to change my custom piston order. I should know tomorrow morning.

Thanks,
Artie

Super Rods

NORMALLY WHEN AN ITEM DOESN'T SELL. A PERSON WILL THEN STATE THAT IF IT DOES NOT SELL BY A CERTAIN DATE THAT THEY ARE MOVING IT TO E-BAY.
YOU APPARENTLY HAD NOT MOVED IT TO E-BAY YET . AND I THOUGHT IT WAS STILL AVAILABLE FOR SALE ON TB. AS ORIGINALLY STATED.
I GUESS JUST A MISUNDERSTANDING ON MY PART. SORRY,
NEVERLIFT.

AND IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION ...

Re: SUPER RODS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are plenty of ads on Turbobuick referencing parts on Ebay -- is this in conflict with TB rules? Yes, the rods are clearly still for sale; potential buyers are now directed to the Ebay auction. If you do not wish to bid, that's certainly your prerogative -- you seem to be in disagreement with that process.

BTW, do you have any idea how to remove ads (threads) for sold merchandise? I don't know how to do that.

Thanks,
TIM
