I have a very low low mile '87 BRF trans, what are the limitations of this trans HP/Torque wise?

I have a mild 455 Olds motor that has roughtly 375hp 500ft/lbs, I currently have a TH400 with a "7.5 3.08 posi behind it but want to upgrade to a 4 speed/ "8.5 3.42 or 3.73

Not sure if I'm going to chew this trans up with basic driving and some track use every now and then...
If so I would rather just let it go to someone wanting to restore their GN and buy one from EA or CK Performance instead...

These tranny's can be hit or miss. My buddy ran stacks of 11's with his 3.8, then put his tranny behind a 455 with nitrous and ran a good number of high 10's. And this is with a stock 200. With a shift kit, bigger pan, bottom filter, and cooler it might not be too bad.
