Broken Band Anchor

Can a broken band anchor or anchor pin be replaced with the trans. still in the car?
Seems my BRF trans has lost 2nd gear,as it has a late upshift out of 1st,then goes right into 3rd when you let up on the gas.
I'm picking up a CZF trans tonight,and hoping to run that for awhile,until I can get the BR unit done right.

and the bottom line is this in my opinion ,if you broke the anvhor the transmission is not calibrated properly.ive never broke one or my customers.dont need more than 230 psi line.any more is a waste of energy ,power,and incurrs aggravation in the form of rotor breaking,anchor busting,poor shift quality ie shift shock.more often than not youll find the band is burnt however.check servo seals
