This band is off a 7004r it has a vette servo .500 boost valve. I built it about 7 months ago for my el camino .
today i was manual shifting thru the gears and bam no second , tore it down and found this.

The anchor in the case seems tight with no slop.

Now my question is this , do they make a better band to prevent this or a better anchor like the one bruce sells for the 2004r ?

pete i am unable to access the fotos but you may weld the anchors to the band if you have the means or order an alto wide red 700r4 band .it is made very well, and if you are wondering why it broke i suspect the cushion spring is omitted on the servo or it applying too ruff.i dont think a heavy duty anchor pin is necessary in a a2004r or a 700r4 and dismiss it as bs .not a cheap shot at bruce either i just dont see it necessary even at 700 hp ,unless you are not using accumulators, cushion springs or check balls when you should.

You are correct Chris there isn't any spring in the accumulator for 2nd. I'll get a new alto band and try it with a spring.

Thanks Chris:D
