Do they make a bronze cam sensor gear for the Buick roller cam. Or do you use the stock gear. Normally when you put a roller cam you put a bronze gear to take the abuse of the billet cam. The reason I ask my buddies gear pretty much self destructed taking out the sensor too.

every comp roller I have seen uses the stock cam sensor gear because the gear used on the roller cam is of a nodular iron. and made seperate from the billet core for the cam. The billet cam has a hardness equal to or harder than the factory gear. The soft iron ger gives way and allows for a small amount of wear untill the surfaces have mated.

If you need a bronze cam sensor gear, you might want to try an HEI distributor gear in bronze. The cam sensor rides in the same place as the HEI distributor did in the carbed models,so it should have similar dimensions.Hope that helps a bit.:)

MSD (And some others) used to offer a bronze cam gear for the V6. I searched for one several years ago and never could find one. MSD has long since discontinued that part and I couldn't find a vendor that stocked them.

Good luck.

I'll have to check with the SBC and BBC guys up here running billet rollers. They've gotta have those gears.Maybe Moroso or Mr.Gasket?

Thanks for the info guys. They make them for every other motor under the sun. I was just wondering if they one for ours.
