I need some work done on my Gn, but is there any good shops in the Michigan area. Car stumbles and backfires, need fixed and race prepped. Any help would be appreciated.

Darren

Have you checked the MAF...same problem when I bought my car years ago. Replaced it with junkyard special and no more problems.

Otherwise, where are you located?

I work for a race shop and have a GN. I maybe able to help you out or guide you to a shop of your choice.

I live in Kalamazoo, which is exactly halfway between Detroit and Chicago on I94. I also have a feeling that it is the MAF, but I don't know for sure. Anyone in the area that is interested let me know

If you can find a local junkyard and assuming it is the stock-type maf...just check it out by swapping them.

Best way is to check with some type of scanner (scanmaster, t-link, etc). But if you don't have those, the mafs are usually dirt cheap. Many GM cars had the same maf.

Hey Darren I have 2 MAF sensors one of which is yours. Your more than welcome to have it back I went to a Translater. I dont know why but my car was rich on the bottom with both of them and no codes got tired of it and switched. As for the backfire start with the simple stuff like plugs I searched for my backfire problem and it ended up being a burned off electrode on a plug after I spent $$ fixing nothing. Or grab Jackie and come on down for a Buick fixin party hahaha. Take Care

Depending on how serious you are about race prep check out White Racing and Marine in Warren (whiteracing.com) I'm not sure how much or if any general repair work they do, but they have a wealth of turbo buick knowledge especially in tuning. I went through them for alot of parts and machine work for my rebuild. Worth a shot to check with them, I'm sure they can at least point you in the direction of a competant repair shop if nothing else. I dealt with Dan, he has an email address on the website as well.

p.s. If you think it may be your MAF don't go to a GM dealer. I made that mistake and $300 later they replaced it. Autozone may be able to read the code for free Im not sure.

p.p.s. Where are you in Michigan anyway?
