I have a 2660lb rx7 , the mods are just fuel mods and a te60 big neck intercooler, th350 trans w/trans brake, ladder bar sup, I want to build a set up to run high 9's very low 10's. This is what i was thinking.

ported heads
3" down pipe
3500-3600 stall
need a cam [ help with size]
keep the te60 or go to a 63-70 turbo
maybe a front mount intercooler [power stroke]

how does this sound for a start, please help with this set up because i wish to start on it after xmas.

help me
 
Gotta love the 70. At least I do. PS IC, that 3700 stall I spoke of, 83 lb. injectors, Max Effort 16 position with the heads ported and a 204/214 or 212/212 cam and you will get there with room to spare. Call Steve yet?
 
not yet man , the broke turbo put me in the hole now, iam pulling the trans and selling it this week . I will probaby call him next week to get it.

I am glad you wrote me on all my post because no one else will write me.
 
TE-63 has gone 10.30's in Scottie's 2800lb GNZ (stock shortblock with ported heads/intake/204/214 cam) and a TE-45a has been 10.10's in Scott's 3000lb Toyota GN Truck (100% stock motor).

72lbers or 83's to get the job done. ME-R or Trans+ will work also.

Frontmount I would say definately yes. Basically redo most of the car if you want to go 9's :D . To go mid 10's leave the motor alone and add a bigger turbo/fuel setup/intercooler/downpipe.

Ported heads/intake/cam will set you back some $$$'s.

now that my te60 is broke iam going to see how big they can upgrade it to. By summer i want to have3600-3700 stall, ported heads, cam?, 70 turbo , 3" down pipe, bigger injectors, and i think i will cut down a power stroke a little and run it as my front mount.

did i ever say that this will still be my weekend driver.

That sucks about the turbo. May be safe to say before it totally went bad that she was throwing some oil which may in-turn fouled your plugs and made your plugs wet. Couldn't have been helping with knock.
 
i was thinking , at idle the fins on the turbo would not move much, doesnt the turbo keep the car running at idle, maybe thats y it died at idle all the time. If the turbo would not keep the car running will it feed more fuel to try to help stay running, maybe it was making it pig rich.


dont know but it sounds good, lol
