I am curious what upgraded parts I should get to have a good low to mid 11 second street/strip transmission. My transmission is in good working order right now.Does not slip.Already have a cooler.
thanks

Well some may not deem my mods nessasary for those times but I have broken my fair share of parts. I wider band and upgraded servo+good shift kit is a must along with other high quality clutches(I prefer Alto) For billet parts I would recommend a Billet forward drum, billet input shaft, and billet OD planetary. I have broken all of those in the past running no better than low 12s at the time(my trans must have been a weak one from the factory). Another mod i definitely recomend is to Dual feed the direct (2-3) clutches as they can be hard to keep healthy in a 200. Last but not least a good pump and torque convertor are a must. If you dont' skimp on these you should have a stout 200 that will last for quite a while in a low 11 second car or quicker. Any of the vendors on this board should be able to provide you with these parts as well. If I left anything off im sure somebody will correct me:D

i'm not sure what a vendor would charge, My dad and I rebuild our own so I'm not sure what labor and other small things would be. I would guess 2400-3000 including convertor (depends on what convertor u go with as well) but i could be way off.

****You're not way off. With all of the stronger parts you list in the first post, plus the labor time it takes to rebuild it professionally, you are looking at $2500 depending upon convertor selection. It takes a lot of attention to detail to do a good hi-po rebuild that will last. No shortcuts. You can go cheaper, but you generally get what you pay for.

Sometimes you get lucky, and a cheaper rebuild lasts forever.. Other times, you spend a fortune and it breaks on the first run. This can be an expensive hobby, and it helps to have a lot of money! :)
