I read somewhere the capsule had taken on several feet of water, possibly even being filled to the top.

Looks from the pictures in the gallery that there will be a major major restoration on the way for that car. I wonder if the artifacts in the trunk were ruined from all that water??? I'll be looking forward to seeing future pictures.

Looks like someone didn't do their homework when they built the "vault". What a waste of a car. Don't think there is anything left to restore if it was sitting in water all that time.

Very recent pics...

Looks like PB Blaster.

Trunk looks bent..prolly hard to open.

Wonder if Boyds guys left the PB cans under the car?...at its most photographed time.

pressure washer might have been handy. also piss poor job sealing the top of the tomb I would have tarred the whole vault. better luck next time, I heard they buried a prowler in 98 to be opened in 2048. hopefully they learned something.

Hahaha wow that's awful that it wasn't sealed right. The idea sounded great when I was reading the website, then I see the pictures of what ended up happening. Would have been awesome if it worked out.

You just know there was someone back then who predicted this and they're now sitting on their rocking chair saying I TOLD THEM SO!

One comment I read was about how they couldn't give these away new so they buried one!

It would have been in better shape if they'd parked it in the corner of the county impound lot with a tarp over it.

Note to self: Seal the GN in an above ground vault.........
