Just did an inspection, I am missing the lower body bushings on both sides under the doors (4-total). Uppers are all accounted for, and the other lowers are there. Tough to tell condition.

Should I just install the missing bushings, or go for them all including the #5 GNX bushings.

If I just do the missing ones, how big of a differece will I see?

It is a T-Top car, no other aftermarket bracing. All my weather stripping needs replaced. I get a lot of "creaking", My entire suspension is new Moog/stock parts.

Speak.

All of the turbo Buicks came without the two (2) sets of bushings that you describe, which are #'s 3 & 4, or #'s 4 & 5. To determine whether you would be best to replace the missing ones or all of them I would consider the condition of the other body bushings, the mileage, & the general condition of the car. I personally would probably replace all of them, including the GNX body bushings with a factory GM rubber set such as sold by Kirban's Performance or GBodyParts.com. I believe that GN/T-TYPE.org has instructions for those that want to do the replacement themselves. I would do a search or check some of the threads listed at the bottom of this thread to determine how far you want to go with suspension improvements. HTH

if you have the money just replace them all. i was missing 8 bushings and my car ran smooth. Funny thing is i didnt even know i was missing them

While we're on the topic, how hard is it to keep the body centered on the frame if you try to do this yourself? I've read the instructions at GNTTYPE.org and it doesn't sound too hard, I'd just be worried about putting things back crooked. If you do one side at a time is there a good chance everything will sit back where it was originally...

doing one side at a time worked for me. dont go undoing all the bolts and trying to reaplace them. do half and half and you will be ok.

Energy Suspension...

I'd do the whole thing at once and be done with it forever.

+1  Call Summit Racing & order part # 3.4141G Energy Suspension Body Mount Polyurethane Bushings. They're better than the stockers & way cheaper if u decide 2 replace them all.

I really want to know the answer to that, too. My car is going to the body shop tomorrow....

I did a couple of these for friends and never had a problem centering any thing. you do not lift body that high .The only problem i had was broken bolts thanks to the salt here in chicago. On mine i took the body completely off and have it on a big dolly. I was going to just fix damage from failing power master and install new bushings. That was just about 10 years ago:eek:.next thing I know the frame is at the blaster. If bolts dont break its easy to do.good luck

Thank you for the encouragement. It gives me hope to hear it worked on other TR's.
