Cable modem question.

Can I hook up two cable modems from two separate outlets?

I think that each model has it's own individual I.D. and your cable company will charge you two monthly internet charges.

What is it that you are trying to achieve?

I spend most of my time in the living room on my laptop on wireless. I have my router in the living room. My wife uses a desktop in the next room. The desktop is on a wireless connection. I would like her desktop to be hard wired.

Why does her computer have to be hardwired? If signal is an issue, I use a Hawking Wireless Range Extender and it works fine. If your house is on a crawl space, just run a CAT5 wire thru the floor and under the house to her computer.
