Hey fellas I've searched high and low for info about my 200-4R and it's CAF valve body but can't find anything. I now it started life in a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix but can't find anything on the shift qualities of these boxes. Anyone know if a little grinding of the governor will work to raise the shift rpm? I will be using a transgo hd2 kit with the servo in my cruiser '61 Impala with around 400ish hp.
I tried to look through the 750 odd threads but couldn't find anything.

Thanks

What's the gov. look like? 200-4r govs.jpg

Very similar to the bottom one. I've got a transgo kit coming.

Valve body has the pink or purple paint mentioned whenever performance valve bodies are mentioned. Actually is CA1 on it.

It's no race car and I don't think I've reved it to much past 4500 with the powerglide to be honest. It is pulling very well still at that rpm. I guess around 5000-5200 would probably be fair I guess.

I don't know what calibration the transgo kit has but I should be able to manually shift if I really wanted to. And just leave it to shift however it is set.
