I want to do a 10 point and Im not sure if I should have it go through the dash or in front of it. Id like to be able to take the dash out if I need to so I think through the dash would be best. Any suggestions?

In front. If done correctly, It should look nice. Check out my photos. link listed below.

Wow, turbodave thats one killer cage!!

I like how the grey totally matches the interior to somewhat blend in ( somewhat only because there are like 15 bars all over the place  ). That must of cost a bunch of $$.

What E.T. are you planning on running with a cage that elaborate?

I personally like the infront cages with the door swing out bars. Was going to go that route and chickened out.

cage

i have mine in front of the dash. i dont think that i would cut the dash up for a cage. check out the link below for some pics. it is an S&W 10 point kit but has some custom bending to make it fit just right. hope this helps. jeremy :D

Through the dash..

You must have a 'dash bar' to be certified.. that is a bar that goes across the dash.. it's kinda hard to hide it when you don't go through the dash

I'll get you a picture of my cage w/ the dash bar.. It actually welds the firewall..

Don't need a dash bar down to 8.50 if stock unaltered firewall is in place.

Really? What is conidered an unaltered firewall?

I was told I needed it.. My firewall is smoothed but is 50% stock and still in the stock location..

Who wants to go slower than 8.50? pshh ;)

Its about time ! p.s dont go through the dash my 2 cents good luck!!!

Pictures don't show it but I do have a dash bar the ties the two forward struts together. You just about have to be a contortionist to see it!!

The cage is chromoly and is NHRA certified to 8.50.

That is what the NHRA rule book says, as to what is considered unaltered your best bet is to contact your local NHRA division office and ask. Its just me but the rules seem to be vague and subjective to interpritation on the inspectors part.
