Cali Smog Referee problems

Ok, I took my 85 with a 86 drivetrain in to get certified (for smog) I came back with these problems.

I need a 86 chip 0394 calibration. He wouldnt accept the 87 chip. Anyone got one?

I need to prove the IC is the stock one, which it is.

i'm sure i'll be able to find a chip, but how do I prove the IC is a stock one? Any suggestions?

According to the Buick dealer, the prom is different for the 86 and 87. What is the Ref saying about the intercooler, and what is your license plate number?

I wish I had all my boxes unpaked, I could verify which one was which. The reason I say this is because I wonder where he gets the number for the chip as 0394???

I am the original owner of my 86, and still have it's original chip (in a box SOMEWHERE). And there's only two numbers that could possibly be. I can verify when I find it. It's most likely the:
CMW0602.
The other one I have is an:
ACXA0942 (this I think is the pre smog recall 87 chip) because the post smog recall 87 chip is the:
BBKJ9464

If it would help I could send the bin file and you could have it burned, but I'm sure he's looking for an actual chip with the factory label.

Man, am I glad I don't reside in the People's Republik of Kalifornia anymore........you mean you actually have smog inspectors smart enough to know the difference between a computer chip and a cow chip?

I think I have an '86 chip in my garage next to my computer. I'll check and let you know. Otherwise I know a guy here locally that has a stock '86 and the chip to go with it. Call Me.

I failed the visual twice for not having the original intake/valve covers but I reinstalled the original valve covers, bought a 3 in piece of pvc pipe and plumbed a pcv line off of the passenger side valve cover and voila! Passed and the tech said I had room to spare.

The referee gets the prom number via SnapOn Scanner and then cross references that number to a Prom catalog.
