Haha Yes that is esentially what I was doing. Surprising how sensitive it is... little too far this way = no start, that way = no start. According to the TR6 I ended up about 5 degrees advanced from the factory "base".

I started out "at least" 20 degrees retarded!

Wel just took it for a short spin and jumped on it once. Seemed better, but no data. Gotta get some data....

It has been very occasionally "skipping a beat" during normal driving. Just randomly it might miss, maybe once per a drive. It hasn't done that again... yet.....

I am a bit encouraged because I have been fighting that pesky 1 degree KR that won't go away and seems to be associated with a "slapping" sound at WOT. I did not hear the slapping sound after the sensor adjusment. Gotta get the laptop on it and see!

Did you leave me the keys?

The OP noted that the motor would miss during his shifts,AKA rapid change in RPM. I had this symptom many years ago and was told that when it misses during a shift,it's the cam sensor. I replaced the cap and did nothing else and have never had a problem since.
I ,also, have a cap that I would like to get rid of.
