i started my car and i heard the cam sensor making a loud ticking noise and i could feel it vibrating. how can i fix this?

take the cap off and see if the ring is scraping against that sensor, or see if the ring has any play, and as long as you can remember (mark) where the base was sitting, take it out and check it over for anything unusual.

well i satrted it up again and it runs good and doesnt tick anymore. i think im going to get my friends cam sensor tool and use it to set it. i bet it got all outta whack when that guy did my timing chain. when i take the cap off no springs or anything pop out right?

ahh, did he put a new tensioner in with your timing chain??

well there are no springs or parts that pop out.. its just a cap with a little sensor in the top of it, nothing very complicated at all ;)

no actualy he didnt put in a new tensioner or cam button. probably b/c i didnt buy it for him to put in. im going to redo the timing chain myself one of these days and just say screw the tensioner im going double roller! LOL:D how bad is it to drive around a car w/a new stock style chain and gears but w/a an old tensioner or cam button. i know it should be replaced but is it really absolutely necessary? im mean the cars not oging to throw the chain just b/c of the old tensioner and button right?

The tensioner wears and you get slop in the chain basicly.. so if the tensioner is 100,000 miles old.. the chain, though new, will be quite loose.

thats about how old the tensioner is:eek: im just gonna rip it all out and put in a double roller. forget this tensioner garbage.:D
