I have a cam shaft that I purchased from Crane back in 94. I spoke with the rep on the phone for a while about my intentions with the car. The Crane rep said that he did have a cam shaft that would do what I wanted but it was a custom cam for one of their customers and was not in Crane's catalog. When I receive the cam and cam card the part number and grind number had been blacked out. I have had this cam in my car for a number of years with the recommended fast bleed lifters. It has been a good cam,,,,,,,,,a little noisy but good.

Here is the question,,,,,,,,The cam card says that the minimum rpm is 1800,,,,,,,Maximum rpm is 4200,,,,,valve float is 6500. The car seems to pull good past 5000rpm.

Here are the cam specs:
Lift @ cam int 0.2771
Lift @ cam exh0.2689
Rocker 1.6,,,,,,I am using the 1.55 rockers

Cam Timing @0.004:
intake Opens 20* BTDC Closes 60* ABDC
exhaust Opens 61* BBDC Closes 13* ATDC
Advertised Duration:
intake 260*
exhaust 254*

Cam Timing @0.05:
intake open (2)ATDC closes 32* ABDC
exhaust open 39*BBDC closes (15) BTDC

Max lift:
intake 107*ATDC
exhaust 117*BTDC

Duration @0.05:
intake 210*
exhaust 204*

If I plug those numbers into Dyno 2000 the added information that I get is:

Lobe center 112*
Valve overlap-17*

Dyno 2000 shows peak power hp@5500rpm and pead torque@4500rpm with the flow numbers of my head plugged into the program.

Does this look correct and if so why does Crane show a maximum of 4200rpm. I just never noticed it before. Those peak numbers seem to match the one for Comp Cam 210/205 Buick V6 cam.

Does anybody know if for the cam spec in the above post if it would be a cam that is done at 4200rpm or a cam that would have a power band of 2500-5500 like the Comp Cam (210/205)

I know there are some smart people on this board. Maybe my question was not clear. Does this cam look like it would pull to 5500rpm?
