Hey guys, ive heard of people using camaro or firebird springs on their cars before, including the rear springs. does anyone know if the GTA Z28 springs are different from the normal v6 camaro springs? also, the rear springs are different than my current ones, would i have to use the camaro upper mount or something? are the camaro rear springs trimmable? i want to lower my car some and think clippng the springs would work well. if anyone has any numbers on the springs like the rate of the spring, i think ive heard 550 for the front where a GN has 425 stock? what about the back, i want more in the back for sure.

thanks

Not too sure about spring rates, but I do know that F-Bod springs are different for the V6, Base Model V8's and for the Iroc/Z28 & GTA's. My friend has an '88 Base Model V8 Camaro and swapped in some Iroc springs and made a BIG difference in handling. If you cut the springs, that'll affect the spring rate also, making it more stiff.

A bunch of my buddies, including myself have been using F body springs in our G bodies, what an overwhelming difference in handling. The car seems just glued to the road!
Good Luck, Mike

there is an iroc in the junkyard that i will get the front springs off of, and clip slightly. the main thing i want is some trimmable rear springs, are the camaro rears trimmable? if not, what springs could i use for the back to lower it 2 inches or so. trimming is just a better option for me. thanks
