My GN just got out of the paint shop and i cant continue to drive it 400+ miles a week like i used to, it just looks too good. My question is, can a 21 year old get classic insurance?? are GN's even eligible? If its possible what are the best places to go through and how much should i look to spend per year???

Nope you have to be 25..... GNs/TRs are eligible for collectors car insurance through companies like Grundy, but you must have a garage and be at least 25 years old.... Also, with collector car insurance they want you to only drive it to car shows/events so basically if something happens like it gets stolen from a parking lot or you get in an accident you better be able to prove that you were going to some event or at one for that matter!

Just what I've been told......

Around here its also 25 for the age and 20 for the car. I just called my insurance company (American Family) and gave them the VIN of the GN I am picking up this weekend and she asked me what was so special about it because it qualifies for collectors insurance and plates in three years.

Yes you can!!!!! I have hagerty insurance on my GN and i'm only 21, and I don't even have a perfect record, 1 accident and 1 ticket. They started a new policy for the under 25 crowd. It has all the hassles of the usual classic policy, locked garage, proof of a daily driver, etc. Give them a call they can probly get you in. $375 a year for $15K agreed value. I did a LOT of calling before I found the right insurance (memorized my vin number). Saves me a ton ($1000 a year). :D

Yes he is correct 87gninpa i called up like a maniac so many times, to Grundy, Hagerty and hagerty will take you but you need a second car. grundy sent me a quote and everything but i forgot to tell her my age :( and well sent back the quote with the check and bam not accepted. but hagerty will be your best bet.

Remember that Hagerty will require that the car is listed as in excellent condition and will require a few photos to verify that claim. Also, your daily driver must be less than 10 years old. Other than that, just common sense stuff, i.e. locked garagwe, etc.

Kinda cool, Hagerty classifies these cars as 'Exotics'.

there are companys that do just calssic car insurence. i know thats what my dad has on his gn and i want to say he pays something like $200 a year. thats with no mielage limitations and no deductable. i'm under 25 so i had to sign something saying i'll never touch look or be within 25 feet of the car. but seriously if i do anything to it i'm not coverd so i never get to drive it. it just sets there in the garage week after week without being so much as moved to sweep the garage floor. its a shame really... sorry about that.

but there was anothe company that would let anyone in, it was limited on miles and had a $500 deductable.

sorry i cna't remember any names.

Hey INEEDAGN how did you get it so low, I got a quote from Hagerty for $688 for the year. I have $15k agreed value and all the usual stuff like $500 deductible and so on. Also my record is about the same as yours 1 accident and 1 or 2 tickets in the past 5 years, and I am 22. Let me know.
Thanks

Honestly I don't know how I did it. I would've been happy with $688 a year compared to what I was paying, but they quoted me at $372, I filled out the forms, and sent them a check. $250 deductible too. Might have something to do with the state you live in??? Also I told them it was dead stock if that matters any (it runs like it's stock anyway), and also made sure that they knew it was in a very secure garage, and I think I told them it would be driven about 2500 miles a year which is more than I will actually drive it. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. Hope this helps.

It is probably because I told them it is modified. Had I known I would have told them it was stock. Thanks
