My 200-4r was a dog from the day I installed it. I finally figured
out that it was starting in second gear. Shift were good and firm,
but it would downshift from 4th to 2nd at 50mph+. I
found that if I shifted back into N or Rev, it would start out in first.
The line pressure in OD & at 1000RPM was 130 with the cable on the carb and 110 with the cable unhooked. Full TV was 260.
Can a preloaded TV spring cause my symptoms?

yes it can IF governor doesnt exhaust all oil it is sent at the right rate when it doesnt rotate ,what happens is the pressure is raised high enough due to tv position that it cant exhaust fast enough and hols the i/2 shift valve open.also cross leaks into the governor circuit ,oversized prnd oil hole in seperator plate ,or transgo shift kits can cause this.www.ckperformance.com

Thanks, Chris!

Your post on 1-17-03 to "valve body experts please read" led
me to thinking that the TV system might causing my problem. I
also found some similarities in www.tvmadeez.com's TV system 101 part 3.

i still cant figure out how to get to those old sily posts of mine .there were a few good ones.

I know what you mean! I found that tidbit by searching for valve+200-4r. If I had searched for your user name, I'd still be searching! Over 600 posts!!
