I only want to powder coat the spokes and the inner flat part where the valve stem is, leaving the outer flat area and rim lip chrome. So as far a s durability, it will not be really hitting the elements, and the car is only driven in nice weather anyway, and since its the inner portion, no rocks and stuff should be hitting it.
I took them to a well know wheel restoration place today and they said they could not do chrome, yet when I had called up there a guy said he could...

The black is more of a dark gray and its a flat texture, and you can only get them with the brushed aluminum look around the rim and not chrome. Why not return these rims or sell them and get a set of american racing wheels that already have the black center spokes- seems like it would be alot less money ,trouble and probably hold up alot better.
