i have a BAD oil leak! i havent traced the oil leak yet but its dripping on the cross pipe and the starter is covered in oil. i dont think its the valve cover because i didnt see any on the back of the head. if its the rear main i was just wondering if it would be possible to replace a rear main without removing the girdle. i know installing a girdle is a time consuming process and machining/shims is required, but if its already been installed on my block then would it be a matter of just unbolt and bolt back on? trust me i could live with an oil leak, a few drips, even a small puddle but this is huge ive only driven the car 3 times and its probably lost a half a quart(thats just what was left in the garage)

Make sure it's not the intake or valve covers. If it's on starter, it may be coming form a higher spot, such as the back of the intake.

looks like its probably just the 2 rear most oil pan studs, the rear main looks clean as a whistle, and nothing from behind the intake. thats a relief

Take the rear studs out. Clean out the holes with brake clean. Fill the holes full of silicone and screw the studs back in and tighten the nuts.
