That looks like the lower ( maybe upper but going with lower) half to the stock air box. The lower item is flywheel/TC cover.

Click to expand... I would put it on. Suck up a bag into bellhousing and see it get forced into pump seal I have seen bags wrapped into pinion seals lots of times.
