Can u get a3way with just using a knock detector using alky?

Assuming it gets tuned teh first time with a scanmaster, and I don't mess with the boost, then just use a knock detector? The guy who I know has a scanamster I can borrow while i tune for the first time?

sure. i have a knock gauge in the car and no scanmaster. no biggie. if i need to tune, i hook up tlink. for daily driving i rely on my knock gauge.

I don't know how one "tunes" seriously with a scanmaster as it does not record data so yo can look at it frame by frame...I own too but don't tune much with them..more of a monitor. I think a knock alarm should be one of the first add ons put on a car..with or without alky...the louder the beep, the better...
