Just wondering if you can cool the fluid too much... i saw a 45,000 BTU cooler and was wondering if you can cool the fluid to much for proper viscosity and temperature. Its available with and without thermal bypass for cold weather. TIA

I have never heard of anyone having trouble with too much cooling on their trans. We try to have our units operate around 150 degree F.

I have two 1'x1' ft external coolers. It defenatly makes the motor hotter, but I compinsate that with a hi speed fan. Tranny fluid is just warm after a run.

Thank You all. Thats what I figured - just wanted to here it from a tranny expert. Thanx - Aaron

Where do you guys recommend putting a transmission temp sender-at the trans or at the radiator?

The one example of going too big has been mentioned. You may have to compensate the radiator cooling if you use a large cooler and block to much of the frontal area of the radiator.

We install our cooling tee at the return line at the trans to get converter temp, which is what we are concerned with.

Does anyone have pics of a good clean install using hard line instead of rubber?
