No, it doesn't have a V8.

I was noticing some light transitional knock when my Alkycontrol system comes on, so I tried to prime it. Well, I can sit on the test button until the motor starts to stumble, but the light will stay red, never turning green. If I'm driving and get into the boost, it will turn green, but at around 12-13 PSI.

Any idea what's causing this? Partially plugged filter maybe?

since the light is pressure activated, I would think extra restriction in the line would cause the green to come on sooner as the pump would more readily develop pressure.

In the instructions it talks about the setting for the red to green transition, and it should be adjustable if you want to make it work using the test button in your current configuration (IIRC the test button doesn't run the pump hard enough to develop the pressure the unit wants to see at it's factory setting unless it is on "8" or something like that, if at all?)

hopefully razor will comment. he has like... the best customer service ever :D

Another area to look. I once had a crack in a fitting on the Alkycontrol system so the pressure after the pump would not raise high enough for the light to transition from red to green.

So what you're saying is, if the pump gain is turned down to around 5, then the test button won't generate enough pressure to light the green LED? I didn't know that gain was related to the test button!

I'll inspect for cracs tonight...And I'll hope that Razor jumps in and comments!

The TEST button just simulates the alky system activating. So if your kit activates at 7 PSI boost and the pump lets say makes 35 PSI pressure because the knob is on lets say 5.. when you push the test button.. it sprays 35 PSI pressure.

Switch on pump we preset to 50 PSI pressure. So when the pump hits 50 PSI.. it goes green. That 50 PSI is a function of voltage applied to pump vs orfice size(nozzle). If you had lets say a 5 GPH nozzle.. it would hit 50 PSI much much faster than if you have 25 GPH worth of nozzles.

If there is any leak from the pressure side of the kit there will be a greater delay as leaks dont allow pressure to be developed. Example a loose hose connection at the filter, nozzle, pump, etc.

If the LED is going green by 15 PSI.. its fine... you dont need a lot of alcohol at that boost level.. make sense?

Thanks, Razor. I'll double-check for leaks, but I definitely know that I'm going green by 15 PSI.
