Went to the track this past friday for a little T & T, and I could not hold more than 3# at the line. I've always had this problem, I wanted to know if I can just get the softer pads and bigger shoes will I notice a differnce with just this mod or do I need the wheel cylinders also. I've read post about the 85 s-10 wheel cylinders will cause tires to lock up and I do mostly street driving.
Thanks in advanced

Try using 2 "long" shoes on the back and buy the least expensive shoe since they seem to be the softest and hold well, but wear quickly also bleed the brakes real well and then adjust the shoes for a tight fit. This works for me.

If that doesn't work, I've had the "big" wheel cyl. on since 95 and never once locked them up! They work really good too (my car was exactly the same, could not hold on the line to save my life). Two "long" shoes per side is a great idea! Hopefully you don't have to buy 4 pair of shoes to get 4 "long" ones?

Ok cool I'll do it all then. If I put the wheel cylinders on do I need line lock to do a burnout. Russ, how much boost are you holding. Thanks

Dude, the line lock is the first thing to do! The most IMPORTANT thing is to do is keep the shoes coooool! When you do the burnout without one, the shoes get hot as hell! then when you need them on the line they're too hot to work!! No matter what shoes or wheel cyl. you have! They are pretty cheap, jegs got em for like 50$ My car, I wait till the needle goes by 15# then let her go!
