The stupid tag is missing. It has a 4 bolt exh flange, a round 6 bolt exh exit for the downpipe. The center section has 3530521 on it. The turbo is made by Holset but I cant seem to find this number anywhere. It is a rather large turbo, like a 70 series or so I am thinking but I need to know.
Any info greatly appreciated.
TIA
Jeff

Without having my truck to reference I can't say 100% for sure, but it sure sounds like the unit that's on a Cummmins diesel.

I know it's a tech issue and I'm half ways jacking this thread, but if you've got any maps of Holset turbos I'd appreciate you throwing me a PM or dropping em on a thread for me. They're NOT easy to come by, I"m leaning towards the HX-35 and the HY-35 turbos. I think they have a 12 and 10 CM^2 exhaust size housing which I think would spool decently.

No Prob

I had some Holset comp maps let me see if I can find them. If this is a Cummins type turbo, would it work on a GN?

thats what the turbo loks like EXCEPT on the exhaust housing is flush, not have that lip and has the 6 bolt holes for the dp. But the comp housing looks like that with the snap ring and all. I turned the housing so it is lined up as it would need to be to sit on my car. Its almost double the size as my stocker sitting next to it.

you've probably got one off of like a Kenworth of something, I'm thinking a Dodge Cummins diesel. The early ones didn't have em as well as having like a 15 CM^2 housing instead of the aforementioned smaller ones, but the later ones have a nice giant waste gate built into em too. I've heard that you're not supposed to use diesel turbos on gas motors, some BS about the vacum and lack of a turbine side seal, I'm sorta dubious on it though because I"ve seen setups using em that work fine. Heck, I've even seen a site of a guy who had an HX-35 on a 2.3L Merkur motor. The thing wouldn't spool till 4 grand, but when it did.....

Thats BS about deisel turbos not going on gas engines.Ive got a friend thats been running a turbo off a Powerstroke deisel for 5 or 6 years with zero problems on his turbod 95 TA.HTH

this was set up with an external w/g. It had a delta or racegate with it. Not sure which one it is as all the markings are worn off
