Can't remove wipers!

My wipers are super rusted but they work fine, I'm trying to replace them with a new pair, but I can't get the old ones off.

I found the clip at the bottom, I tried prying it up and removing them but no luck. Is there a better way to completely remove wipers on a GN? Car is an 84

Are you trying to get the arms off or the blades?

removing wiper arms.........

You have to press down on the part of the wiper arm that connects to the wiper arm drive, the short section before the wiper arm joint. This releases the spring pressure, then you pull the clip up/pull it toward the windshield, then pull the whole arm assembly straight up to remove. Installation is just the reverse.

Tried remove the blades and they broke the arms in half

NCC- Thank you so much, that spring pressure did the trick. It was pretty tough to press down as well, came off pretty easy.
