Went out to start the TTA this morning and it was dead. Last night after driving the car, I heard something electrical running in the rear of the car, like around the fuel tank. I am new to these cars and figured it was just something they do. Well, I guess not! I came out this morning to start it and it was dead. I tried jumping it off, but it was too dead. But, after I hooked up the jumper cables, I heard the sound come on again. Is this a fuel pump problem? Is this common?

Thanks

That sound was the fuel pump, sounds like it was still running all night and killed your battery...

How do I remedy this? Do I need a new pump, or is there a relay that can be changed?

Anyone?

Yeah I think it could be the relay. Look under the hood, on the drivers side fender well you should see it there along with the fan relay, etc. Might be a good time to go ahead and run a hotwire kit and be done with it.

Lot of people like them. I was just about to order one, when I realized I had a bad bearing. Can't beat it for the money I would think. The first thing I would do is get a good walbro fuel pump, adjustable regulator, and hotwire kit. Good luck!

Well I guess a little too much detonation. You can hear it at startup for a second or two then it goes away. Gonna drop the pan, try and replace it before it starts to eat into the crank.

Thanks for the help boys, it was the relay. $15 at NAPA and I'm back on the road.

And, I do have a walbro fuel pump, adjustable regulator, and hotwire kit.

Thanks again for the help. What did we do before the internet!
