Im lloking for a car insurance that will give me what my car is worth and wont give the run arounds on prices and most importantly wont try to pay me off for a Regular Regal.. Ive heard to many Tr owner losing there cars and then havein to convince the insurace company.. SO any Recommendation's on Car INsurance for these car's?? Its not my daily driver.. But she (Buick) is not trailer Queen.. so any suggestions??? thanks.....:D

Grundy, Hagerty, JC Taylor, Parrish Heacock etc.

Make sure pleasure driving is included. Some are only for shows, parades etc.

Be accurate on annual driven miles. ;)

For all of these companies - Does the car have to be garaged?
you know i just finih talking to all these company's... all of them have diffrent require ments.. and yes, it has to be garaged.. some of the company's only offer insurance for the vehicle if its driven less than 10,000 miles yearly, and only if the car is in perfect condition, if you are 25 years old(i forgot wich of the company's required this), its only for car shows, car functions, and car club meetings.. eighet than that they wont insure it.. so basically if the car isnt a garage queen, they wont take it.. i forgot wich company was it, tha said the car is to new.... i havent had any luck with finding any good auto insurance.. so i might just go to allstate, progressive, or something like that and just get it cover (fully cover).. its better than having nothing...

I have allstate and we have agreed upon a stated value policy. If I ever total the ol T Type I'll get roughly around $10K back...while it certainly isn't what I have invested in it, that's better than nothing.

AAA (Auto Club) recently started coverage to an agreed value on collector cars, including the GNs. Obviously, prices will vary according to your age, location, and driving record but premiums will be lower if you cover other vehicles and property with AAA.

My premium fell by half compared to what I was paying to American Hobbyist, and without the mileage restrictions. Garage parking was a requirement as I recall.

Have my TR with State Farm. Thet follow the NADA values. If you haven't checked them lately, the NADA values for our cars might pleasantly surprise you! I'm keeping mine with SF with no restrictions or limitations. For my '70 GS, I'm shopping collector car insurance right now and was turned down for Grundy as they will not allow you to use the car for any errands or back up transportation. I have a pending app with Hagerty as they will allow that. Guess who will get my business. There's alot to learn about the insurance game and knowing what coverage you need as well as how to read a declarations page.

I checked on Hagerty, and it says they won't even cover it, it has to be an '86 and older to be considered. I called Grundy and wanted to be clear on something, but ended up not learning a thing, basically.

You can't use the car to drive to work and on errands. OK, I asked about if I'm out on a Sunday afternoon and have to stop at a store for something, will the car be covered if something were to happen? Basically, the lady told me that if I'm stopping at a small convenience store that I'd be OK, but if I'm at the mall (Something I'd never do anyways with the Buick... Car theft city there) or a big grocery store, that it might be a problem. She said that the car would be out of sight too long and who's to say you were in the store for 5 minutes or an hour? I can't see how something like that can be abused... Not sure I'm entirely comfortable with it though....

I'm most likely going to sign up for it because it'll cut my insurance payments in half for $3,000 more coverage (I only have it for $7,000 right now with Allstate). I'll just have to use better judgment on where I drive it I suppose.... The goal is to avoid a claim with anyone, but I want to be assured that I'll be covered if I need to.... *sigh*

i have...

Hagerty..$12000 stated value policy with 1k deductible,and i pay $296.00
per year...all they told me is it can not be used as daily driver...must be garaged and approx miles used per year...i told them 2000,as i never really drive it...1987 buick turbo regal t-type..and i had to email 2 photos...
so far i feel like this is a good price..4 other friends of mine have similar policys with Hagerty my 2 cents
