About a month ago the car started missing and I don't have a scan tool, so I started looking for obvious causes. I've replaced the fuel filter, coil pak, ignition module, spark plugs and wires, all with AC Delco parts, except for the Kirban plug wires. The car still is still missing and the only other thing I can think of would be a bad MAF or injectors.

Under acceleration, the car pops like a cylinder insn't firing, but if you stay in it, you can get full power. Would a bad MAF throw an error code? Any help is greatly appreciated since I have to drive this car everyday!

Thanks

sorry to hear your still having problems, my car had similair issues , look to add multiple ground points and bad injectors.

any error codes?

I don't know about error codes as I don't have a scan tool. I am in the process of trying to borrow one from a board member. I do still have the factory injectors and MAF. Could it also be the EGR valve?

Kirban plug wires suck, caused a similar situation on my car way back when. Bring it by if you have time, I can look at it. Make sure you check the grounds, those can cause problems too. Hope its not something serious, like a cam lobe or something.

First, what did you do before the miss occurred? Tell us anything from changing the rad fluid to removing the back window! Once we know what the hell you have done we can determine a probable cause. If you woke up one morning and the thing started to miss, then so be it, but we need to know this! Does it miss at idle, under load, at 50mph???? Go to gnttype.org and search trouble codes. There you'll learn how to pull codes w/o any scan tool. Post the results.
