Hi im new to the site as well as turbo buicks or any computer controlled vehicle for that matter. I recently purchased a 85GN to use every day and so i could work on my 69 firebird. My question is this the car seems to idle high and slightly rough but nothing major. the check engine light is also on. I was wondering if these problems could be related to the o2 sensor. Any help is appreciated. Kyle

Possible but I doubt it. You really need to get some more info as far as what the fault code is. Best shot in the dark would be the IAC valve crudded up or needs to be reset (see basic hotair info for the procedure) but get the fault code and go from there..

Before you do anything or get advice from anyone on this board, thoroughly (and I do mean thoroughly) read everything on www.gnttype.org. This site has everything you need to know about your car on it, before you can ask for help, you must understand how and why thigns work and break on the turbo buicks!

basics

Ensure all the basics are up to date - plugs, wires, fuel filter,
fuel pressure, air filter, O2 sensor. Check your wastegate vacuum
hoses, coil pack (ohm it out hot 12-14 kohms between the 3 sets
of terminals). Tap on the MAF while idling if it stumbles replace
it. Perform the IAC/TPS reset available at gnttype.org
A scan tool is most helpful in finding problems - I have turbolink.
You may be able to borrow one from another turbo Regal owner in your
area.

bye, Ed
