So my 87GN all original, 30k miles has operated flawlessly. My battery was going bad so I hooked a charger up to it. I thought it would go in maintenance mode, but it did not and I must have overcharged it. Battery essentially blew up. After removing the bad battery and installing a new one, the car won’t start. It turns over great. Don’t see any blown fuses. Has to be spark or fuel related. I’m not mechanically savvy nor a weekend mechanic, so limited on skills. What are the easy things to check for before having it towed somewhere? Has to be something simple as the car is pristine and never had a problem. I can’t imagine the battery episode would have damaged anything, but I’m not sure. Any ideas for me? Thank you!

My first concern would be cleaning up the battery acid.

Definitely do both of those. Then go basic, check for fuel and spark. Can you hear fuel pump with key on? We can go from there.

The plug will be located between the battery and coolant recovery tank
