Hi my 87 gn is bone stock i am orignal owner car has 98000 miles has not been a daily driver for the past 8 years just sits in the garage i drive it about once a month any way i took it out to work 7 it drove ok after work i went out after work & it cranks i have f/P at the rail & spark it sounds like it wants to start sometimes but it wont ! any sugestions please it is stuck in the lot at work thanks

There could be about a couple thousand things wrong. How cold is it there? You say it ran ok to work, but was it really ok or was it a little rough? How far do you drive to work? Does it get fully warmed up? Highway or stop and go? When was the last time you changed the plugs? So now it has sat there overnight. Get a good set of jumper cables and jump it, and try to start it. Chances are it is flooded. Danny

hi about 35 degres & i traveled 40 miles mostly highway & to day it ran for about 2 or 3 mins than it stalled i have not changed plugs in a long long time i will try that could it be the crank sensor?

no what is the correct fuel pressure? at rail mine is 9lbs
You should see around 38 with the hose off the regulator. Sounds like a bad fuel pump, plugged fule filter, kinked hose, low voltage at pump, bad fule pump relay, plugged/collapsed sock, defective regulator .............
When you turn the key, can you hear the pump prime and then stop?

No start

Hi,
9 psi won't get it. Unless the filter is blocked, time for a fuel pump. Go with a Walbro340, and put in an adjustable regulator. Sorry for your trouble, and good luck with the fix!

Hi,
You could try to deadhead the system by blocking the return hose, and it might bring the pressure up. I doubt it,though.Anyway, time for a fuelpump. Easy swap, beats some of the others.

Thanks everyone i will be putting in a new pump in tommorw afternoon will post when done THANKS! :)

Do make sure you replace the filter. It never hurts to throw in a 340, but the filter could be the main problem. Do they start putting alcohol in the fuel there in November? That will release a bunch of crap from the tank that is stopped by the filter. Later.. Danny
