Looking for feed back, I see in the directions where you have to rotate the cam sensor COUNTER CLOCKWISE until the red led just turns red. I am wondering if it matters CLOCKWISE VS COUNTER .

I am going through my mental check list before I turn the motor over and I recall setting this up by rotating it clock wise. I am wondering if it makes a difference. I ask because if it does and I go to crank and she won't crank due to my shortcut. To get the motor to top dead center requires me to remove the stock intercooler to get access to the crank bolt.

Any opinions out there?

It must be counterclockwise. I feel your pain, but if you're not sure, do it over. You want it to start and run correctly, especially if you are breaking in a flat tappet.

Got a billet hydaulic, but it is easire to reset the cam sensor while the motor is at top dead cener than to try and run her and then go back.

Thanks for the feed back.

What gives

So I go back to reset the cam sensor by rotating the cap counter clockwise and now the durn LED stays lit all the time. Any body have any idea what this is a sign of.

I have changed nothing on the car, I mean gee whiz. The car sat over night with absolutely no change with execption to pulling the fuel injectors. The fuel rail is not bolted down completely

sounds like mine my LED wont go out to i need to send it back caspers told me to test it was to take a screw driver and pass it threw the mag slot on the inside if it stays lite its bad

Did you start all over and bring the engine to 25 degrees atdc when you repositioned the sensor?

With the new cap you don't take it to 25 degrees after top dead center, you roll it to top dead center.

I'll do the search but any ideas on how to get the stock sensor in spec, I still have that one but went to the casper unit for ease of installation after re build. So much for that. I'll do a search and look in the manual.

yhea that caspers cap is the best paper weight ive ever bought

Good info here! It is SUPPOSED TO STAY LIT UNDER NORMAL OPERATION! Read the last few lines. ;)

Understood, but I haven't cranked the car since the rebuild and I was going to set the cap and regardless of position when rotating clock wise or counter it stays lit. I took the cap off put something in between the hall effect sensor and it stayed lit.

The funny thing is when I installed it originally it seemed to be working....

What I am trying to do is avoid having to take the stock mount intercooler out to turn the crank. My wrench won;t fit the bolt with it installed.

I wonder if you can use the casper cap even though the led won't go out. In other words use it in conjunction with a voltmeter. Anyone have any ideas on this. If the led won;t go out does this mean the setting function is the only part that is bad or is the entire unit bad? I would love to keep the adjustability of the casper unit seeing as i have a different cam.

caspers told me to plug it in and turn the car on the take a screwdriver and slide it threw the slot the light should go out if it dosnt its bad

I had the same problem with the light staying on. So I set it the old way and the sensors lasted about 2miles then it went bad i had to install another sensor.
