I have both a Casper's knock gauge and audible knock sensor. I was wondering if anyone knows the correlation between the color of the LED's and the degrees of knock?? I want to know what Casper thinks "moderate knock" is. Also, I got an orange light the other day and got off it but my audible detector didn't go off. Does it just beep when the motor explodes??!! I know someone with a scan tool has figured this out. Thanks for any input.

I too would like to know.

From what I have gathered, the knock detector gauge will go off as soon as knock is sensed, and then if you have a Scanmaster it will show how many degrees it retarded.

Case in point my KR gauge has gone in the upper green and no knock pull shown, then I've seen yellow and maybe .9 pulled.

Another thing I don't believe the gauges are very accurate. They can be finicky.

The alarm will chirp if a signal is sent from the knock sensor/ESC module to the ECM. If no signal is sent no chirp.

Also you say "orange light"....does your car have the digital dash? That's the only orange light I've heard of, which is actually a pseudo boost gauge.

Orange light meaning the orangish LED lights on the Casper's Knock gauge(green, orange, red). I just got a direct scan hooked up so I'll get to the bottom of this. Now if i could only get my wot o2's closer to 760 and not 900:eek:

Ok, I always thought the middle LED's were yellow.

Not sure but I don't think the knock gauges are very accurate because even starting the car can send one of them into the red.
