Does anybody have the casting numbers or other identifying marks off of the blocks used in the L39 or L67 Series II engines?

I'm looking to drop one into a G-body. I want to make sure I've got enough information to snag the proper core from a core dealer here in town. He's got a warehouse full of engines, but he strips the intakes off the blocks before he puts them on the shelf, so I can't look for the big "3800 Series II" stamping. He just sorts them by type and casting number.

Thanks!

Do you mean the L36?? I just looked at the spare block in my garage and on the #5 clyinder wall there was a # 24506029 along with a 3800 SERIES II tag, there is also one of those 3800 tags on the #2 cylinder wall. I don't know what the first number is but I do know the compression is higher, 9:1 on the L36.

Yeah, L36. Dyslexia.

Good. I'm glad the blocks are tagged. I couldn't find any information on markings on the blocks. That number should help.

The L67 has dished pistons and stonger connecting rods. Other than that, the short blocks are identical, as far as I've been able to tell.

Thanks!
