The stock exhaust rusted out. I need some opions on new exhaust. I do not have a cat. I am looking for great flowing mufflers as well. I love running open dump, however, torque and boost control is lost down below.
As per Mark, you can ALSO get a hooker if you really wanted too , on the the question at hand. I have that exhaust and it rocks, been 7 years and no rust or leaks.
If money is not a concern....I would go with the ATR stainless 2.5 system. Last system you will ever need. Is the car a daily driver? If it is the Hooker system will rust away, mine did after 4 years.
The ATR pitbulls are truely straight through. Some of the other 'straight through' muffs are actually a slight 'z' shape to the inside. That is you can not actually see straight through. True this does not make a difference you will prolly feel but every time the air has to change direction you get backpressure.
I have heard the Hooker and ATR side by side. The ATR 2.5 is quieter and deeper sounding to me.
But...is about 250 bucks more for the stainless. If looks count....go stainless.
I've had the Kenne-Bell $$$$ dual stainless steel exhaust system on salvageV6 about 10 years now. Added dual stainless steel Ultraflows when the Super Turbos rotted out last year.
Great exhaust system driven daily and all winter too!
