i have a 1986 grand national with 164,000 miles. It has the original catalytic convertor still on it. In your opinion, is there reason to believe that it could be clogged with that many miles on the car? and if so, could a clogged cat have something to do with my sputtering and backfiring under wide open throttle? Thanks alot, Justin

If it was clogged you wouldn;t flow any air or make boost past 5 psi and probably overheat. Its something else.

ok, my coolant temperature on my scanmaster is 206 and my bl is only 105. I am going to replace my thermostat to start off

If this is an original stock car your radiator is likely flowing at less than half, and if you still have the filter on the passenger valve cover hooked to the turbo, then you likely have a few quarts of oil residing in your intercooler.
