Will the cats removed help or hurt with performance of my 87 gn? pretty much stock.

You will definitly improve performance by losing the cat. Probably give the car a little deeper exhaust note too.:biggrin:

Carefully remove the cat converter and gently and lovingly place it in your nearest dumpster.

there is only one cat. on the car. removing it or gutting it will help performance.
