Hi,

I have the plan to install the functioning catalysator to our GN 87. What things I should take in to opinion conserning the catalysator inside technical features when purchasing it.

I have to purchase the universal model because of the exhaust system, California uirements are not the issue in my case. I have heard that some ctalysators are for max 231 cid engines. For gn it is ok, but the additional requirements??

I'm going with your wanting to do a Catalytic Converter. Is there a reason? With these cars being well over 25 yrs old they are well out of warranty and don't really need such a device.

Hi and new question regarding catalysator. is it ok to install the catalysators replacing the two mufflers in the back before the the rear axle? The original cat is bad thing to replace it with the new functional cat related to down pipe construction . So....?

again, being over 25(closer to 40yrs) yrs old why would you think you need a new cat?

The OP appears to be from Finland . That might be the reason for the odd spelling / grammar , plus he has posts from before AI .

sez he joined up on 2005 . not sure on their laws I guess but I doubt they are tailpipe sniffing an almost 40yr old classic car but who knows.
maybe his account was hacked

Thank you.

So that changes the question.

Does Finland require a calayst? If not, then don't bother.
If they do, then being in Finland, I know they can weld anything to anything else... under water upside down with four inches of ice on the surface. Get a universal that matches the pipe diameter and complies with local regulations and get it done.

Hi and thanks for your answer!! are you really so stupid texasT and Dynomax(maybe from Russian), that you start to discuss about spelling and grammar, but not the issue in question?. If you not understand the question about the catalysator installation in to the exhaust, please don`t answer with your stupid comments. And related to the spelling and grammar you use texasboy and Dynomax, it is time to start the english study for instance in Harward university. Sorry....,

WOW!

I don't think anyone meant to offend you, seriously. Most people here want to help, if they can. Both of the guys you are getting riled at know an awfully lot about these cars. They give some pretty good advise, and they do it often and freely.

You catch more flys with honey... Jus' sayin'.

I was DEFENDING YOU to a statement that you might be a Bot / AI , because no one calls it a catalysator in the USA , we call it a catalytic converter .
I'm out .

These cars run best without a catalytic converter, but if you must run one make sure it’s a hi-flo one.
I would call someplace like Summit Racing to find what you need.
I don’t know how this would work, but it looks really cool.
